You’re dating Who!? How to handle Friends dating Ex’s in the Jewish Community.
It is quite common in the Orthodox Jewish world for our friends to date others that we have already dated. Do not get wierded out or start creating any drama, as this is not something you are able to control or have a freak out session over.
You chose not to move forward with that individual before so what has changed? Maybe now you have some jealousy or a feeling that maybe you should try again?
Make decisions and be confident in your decisions in life – second guessing is not healthy for anyone.
Allow for others to find love and accept love. You can not control and be in control of everyone and those you have been in past relationships with. Allowing others to move on, allows you to move on to find that perfect individual to spend the rest of your life with.
Grudges, doubts and regrets are things that are unhealthy and can create lots of chaos mentally for you and your future partner/love of your life to experience.
When you feel like your with a best friend, don’t let them go. You will subliminally always try to protect yourself and bring only the right people into your life. So if your intuition said no before, trust it.
If you let go of an individual from a relationship, allow others, including friends, to have full right and ability to ask that individual on a date and wish them success and great fortune in trying to find love. Trying to make something work is half the battle and many struggle with getting the nerve to ask someone out. If a friend is finally able to ask someone on a date, do not ruin that experience by giving them negative feedback or the reasons why you didn’t date that individual further.
Allow your friends the ability to create their own opinions & do not spread loshon hora or information that can give someone a false idea of who that individual is, as your judgement and thoughts may not be anyone elses.
The caveat to this, is if the individual you let go is a negative or bad type, obviously warn your friends before they go on such dates or experiences.
At the end of it, the goal is to find the right perfect relationship and you will need to try going on a few dates to do so. Allow all your friends and others to do as you are doing and just because you dated someone, allow others to experience that individual and see if a bond or special love can form.
