The Mess of Profile Pictures on Jewish Dating Apps
First impressions create a forever-lasting image inside a mind. So why ruin that for someone? Why ruin their image of us? Is it due to us being in a rush and trying to get a profile up and running quickly? If that is the case, that is totally ok, but at least, have a great picture on hand ready to upload.
Do not upload a selfie, or a quick unprofessional picture that you just took, that makes you look like a serial killer or psychopath from the angle you think looks good. This is probably a huge percentage of selfie profile pictures made, unfortunately.
I believe that we are all trying our best, but we can do a bit better. If you have a couple of hundred dollars extra this month to get a professional picture taken, that is always a great way to make a lasting impression on your dating profile. Another great idea… the next time you get dressed up for an event or outing, ask a friend who is a good photographer or anyone who has a smartphone to take a picture of you.
Smile! I think a lot of people are worried to smile and then we see puckering duck face profile pictures of interesting-looking HUMAN-duck people. I think we need to smile and remember you are much better looking than you think when you smile. A smile on a profile picture is so important – that is the smile that your future partner will see & they will get that intuition that they finally found you! Do not forget, the strange stares, intense sexy looks, and all that other craziness turns off women and men. We want nice, caring, loving people in our life. What does your smirk, smile or look say about you?
Tzniut – Modesty. It is something that is a personal thing for each of us. A level of modesty within a dating profile picture gives you the ability to take control of your own body, image and what you believe is appropriate for others to look at and even, potentially fantasize about as someone that could be a future potential partner. Thoughts are so powerful, that extreme negative or extreme positive thoughts could even create something called eyin horah, evil eye, according to the old Jewish traditional tales of the mystics. So we believe, it is important to be careful with what you put out to the internet and especially a Jewish dating app or website. It is important that you protect yourself at a comfort level you believe is best for you.
Analyze others on dating sites and then look back at your profile. What would you say about yourself now? If you put little time into a profile picture or overall profile, now you see how it can totally impact your chances of finding love. People judge people so quickly. You do as well automatically. Your intuition is very important and so is the intuition of everyone else. So, please pay close attention to your brand, your image, your overall presence on the internet, and especially on the dating website you choose to use.
All of us are paying attention to what we see in front of us. So I will leave you all with this question.
What version and brand of yourself are you putting out in front of the world for the future love of your life to see?
With much love and respect.
